On July 2 at Daytona International Speedway, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will drive a special, one-time paint scheme that honors the history of this storied fighting force the No. 88 National Guard Heritage Chevrolet. Since 2008, when the partnership began with Dale Jr. and the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports team, the National Guard has made a tradition out of running a camouflage paint scheme for the July Daytona race.

This years design is a combination of modern camo, distinctive black and all-American red. The camo pattern emblazoned on the car matches the modern uniform pattern that is currently issued to Guard Soldiers serving in Afghanistan.
